About me
I am from the windy city of Chicago, lived there all of my life before I began to explore other cities in the United States. I began my career in the administrative field and eventually became a photographer, web and graphic designer after earning my MFA in Photography.
My great love is to always create, to work with my hands. So after relocating to Atlanta, Georgia in 2001, my son-in-law gave me a bar of handmade soap as a welcoming gift and from then on I was immediately hooked. Since then I have been making my own cold-processed soaps and handmade body care products and except for hair coloring and make-up (sorry, can’t help myself), I have not used any chemically processed skincare product.
One of the main reasons I started Micky Byrd in 2006, is to give people a healthier alternative when purchasing body care products. Cancer is everywhere and I believe a large part of what causes cancer is coming from the products that we use and the processed foods that we eat. To help reduce the consumption of chemical usage in and on our bodies, using natural and organic ingredients in our body care products is far better for our bodies than using chemically created products.
Micky Byrd is an eco-friendly, parabens and cruelty-free, Fair Trade operated company, and Vegan friendly too. No animal by-products (except from those busy bees) artificial or chemical ingredients.
A major goal of mind through Micky Byrd is to give back and support other women striving to make a better life for themselves and their families. And I want to thank you for making that happen.
