About me

Hello and welcome.

I am a 33 year old Filipina-American now living in London. I am a self-taught jewellery maker with some 15 years of practice and I credit my science-y and arts-y family for giving my creative spirit a leg up.

In 2008 while cleaning my childhood bedroom in New Jersey, I learned to marry my interests in recycling, music, and jewellery. Rooting about my family home for objects and materials and armed with the mantra: “Well, why not?” I created the first few pieces that now form the backbone of Tortoise Loves the Hare.

I consider myself an avid recycler and 2nd hand enthusiast; I truly get a kick from finding novel uses for worn-out things and doing it in an aesthetically pleasing way. At the moment, I'm working to expand the types of recycled materials I use and tap into my interests in the natural sciences and medicine.

On my off-time, I enjoy hanging out with my husband and practicing Tai Chi. And on occasion, hammering-out some tunes on the piano.
