"I've attempted to grow cotton as an ornamental in the past, without much luck. For our 2nd anniversary I thought I'd buy some raw cotton to use as packing in my husband's gift, then plant the seeds. I contacted the Cotton Man and told him my plan; Butch wrote back with some growing tips and I ordered a pound.
Couple of things I'd like to point out to potential buyers:
1) A lb of cotton is A WHOLE LOT OF COTTON. Definitely getting your money's worth! He also added an extra bag of seeds!
2) Turns out, this is lovely cotton. I hadn't expected to do much with the fiber, but when I felt it in my hands, my knitter instincts kicked in. Long staple, silky, glossy and so soft. Perfect for hand-spinning.
3) I got 100% germination on these seeds following Butch's tips. Can't wait for those pale flowers!
Thanks, Cotton Man Butch!"
