My name is Małgosia Archer. I am the creator of steel lamps. I use the word Creator here because it better reflects my participation in the process of lamp making. This process usually starts with an idea, and with the help of pencil, paper, scissors, and computer processing. Then the design is laser cut and welded. The stainless steel I use is hand-sanded to give it a pencil sketch-like appearance. Such steel looks soft and malleable. Others are powder coated.
I was lucky to spend most of my life traveling around the most interesting places in the world. I got scholarship to study ceramics in China at the Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing. The influence of exotic cultures is visible in my work. I do not strictly follow fashion trends in interior design, but rather intuition, as I value individualism more than mass preferences.
The idea of lamps was born out of necessity. The house I finished had light bulbs hanging from the ceiling for a long time. I was looking for original and unique lamps but couldn’t find what I wanted. I’ve realized they have to be created. And so, the Archerlamps was born. Two-component concept: raw material combined with magic as I can never fully predict the shadows my lamps project, but they are undoubtedly magical. Lamps with Soul.
Am I an artist? The word is too big and too abstract. This is for others to judge. I prefer not to put labels on myself. I create, therefore I am a creator (and a bit of a sorceress)

I live on the edge of the forest, on the slope of a mountain with my family. The forest is my passion and inspiration. I always find all the answers there. I find myself.
