Lettering and hand lettering
Hand lettering and lettering, we encounter everywhere in our everyday lives. Whether a sober lettering on our toothpaste tube or an elegantly curved and graceful calligraphic font style on the flacon of our favorite perfume. Hand lettering is everywhere.
When I first consciously perceived hand lettering, it was a matter close to my heart to learn this typeface. The assumption that you have to have "the" perfect handwriting to learn hand lettering was quickly taken away from me, because hand lettering is not beautiful writing, but the drawing of letters and font styles. However, hand lettering is not just a typeface art, but a tool to express emotions. Letterings can express lightness, cheerfulness, melancholy, and even sadness.
My love of writing has thus become a passion that leads through writing and the overall picture to an expressive, harmonious composition.
Hand lettering sets no limits to the imagination and so this is an art that exudes a very individual touch.
My favorite tools are pens in all imaginable variations. Whether pencil, felt-tip pen, marker, calligraphy pen, brush pen or brush pens, I love them all. Pens and their colors in combination with a wide variety of papers produce such beautiful results that make me smile again and again.
The digitized letterings are then printed by a Dortmund print shop in the family business. It was very important to me to hire a local company for printing. Every online print shop can produce cheaper, but it is important to me that I have a personal and competent contact person in order to reliably implement the individual wishes of my customers as best and as individually as desired.
I like to create individual, personal letterings in close coordination with my customers. Whether the favorite poem in the pretty picture frame is to decorate a living room, a calligraphic, graceful love message is to be written or the wedding stationery is to be designed for the most beautiful day in life. I look forward to every individuality with passion and for me there is nothing better than giving away a smile of satisfaction.
Dot Painting
Dot painting is the art and painting technique of the Australian aborigines. Body painting, cave and rock painting are still part of the indigenous Aboriginal culture. My very first look at a work of art in dot design triggered a spontaneous infatuation in me, which continues unrestrictedly to this day.
I deeply love to design natural stones, wood, canvases, glass and porcelain in this painting technique, because every art object becomes an enchanting, unique piece. With a lot of care, concentration and attention to detail, a small jewel is created in often hours of work. Especially any natural stone, sometimes smaller than two to three centimeters, is a challenge, because stones are uneven and never have a smooth, easy-to-paint surface.
Whether dot painting or hand lettering. Both art movements are inexhaustible and I love that so much.
Dot painting usually takes place on a black background coated with acrylic paint. In mandala art, the starting point for a pattern is always the center around which the design is designed. As tools I use both small, fine brushes and dotting tools (nail art tools). In addition to the filigree, precise, round color dots with the tools and brushes, the consistency of the acrylic paint is decisive whether a point becomes harmoniously round, succeeds or not.
Following the painting in dot design and after a longer drying time, as work is often done point by point, my works mostly receive a two-fold, semi-gloss finish for sealing. This finish adds another touch of brilliance to the color and ensures that sunlight doesn't fade the colors.
Every dot and every color changes a design and you don't know at first what the final art object will look like. I let myself drift, sink completely into this almost meditative passion, until the eyes burn and the head dreams of dancing, happy dots.
FeinrsoaDesign is still a very young shop and my first sales are the best feedback and great motivation.
Please do not hesitate to ask me your questions, which I will be happy to answer in a timely manner.
